Cookie Policy
How ArcadeOn uses cookies and similar technologies, and how to control them.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how ArcadeOn Games, operated by ArcadeOn Studios, uses cookies and similar technologies — including your browser's local storage and mobile advertising identifiers — on the website and in our mobile app. It sits alongside, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy, which describes more fully how we handle personal information. By using ArcadeOn, and where required by giving consent through our cookie banner, you agree to the use of cookies as described here.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include your browser's local storage, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs) in the mobile app, and device or mobile advertising identifiers. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your choices, keep games running smoothly, understand how the platform performs, and — where you consent — to show and measure advertising.
Categories of cookies we use
- Strictly necessary. Required for the platform to work — authentication, session continuity, security (including CSRF protection), and load balancing. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences. Remembering your settings, including your cookie-consent choice (stored in your browser's local storage) and basic display options.
- Gameplay and local storage. Lightweight in-browser storage used to keep games running smoothly on your own device — for example holding your current run, duel, and interface state.
- Performance and analytics. Analytics that help us measure stability and improve the platform, including tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar. These help us understand how pages are used and how our features perform; Hotjar may also capture anonymised interaction and session-behaviour data (such as clicks and scrolling) to produce heatmaps and usage insights.
- Advertising. Google AdSense on the website, Google Ad Manager, Google AdMob in the mobile app, and Google's advertising partners set cookies and read device/advertising identifiers to display and measure ads, including personalized (interest-based) ads where you have consented. This includes ads on our own games and on community (user-generated) game pages, and the full-screen ad breaks we show inside our own games on the website through H5 Games Ads. H5 Games Ads is part of AdSense and is served by the same AdSense code already on the page, so we add no separate advertising tag for it; what Google itself stores is covered by Google's own policies, linked below. Rewarded ads — the optional ones you choose to watch, in our own games and in community games — are delivered through either H5 Games Ads or Google Ad Manager, which loads its own Google ad tag. Like every other advertising cookie, all of this is governed by your consent choice.
Consent, Consent Mode v2, and the cookie banner
The website uses Google Consent Mode v2 together with a consent banner shown on your first visit. In the UK and EU, non-essential cookies and personalized advertising default to denied until you give consent — Google's tags adjust their behaviour based on your consent state, and strictly necessary storage continues to function so you can sign in and play. Advertising, analytics, and preference cookies are non-essential: you can accept or decline them using the banner.
Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in our website footer, which reopens the consent banner. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings, though disabling strictly necessary storage may prevent you from signing in or playing. On mobile, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization through your device settings.
Advertising controls and more information
You can control the advertising you see through the following third-party tools:
- Manage Google ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from participating providers via Your Online Choices (UK/EU) or the DAA WebChoices tool (US).
Data collected for advertising is handled by Google and its partners under their own policies, including Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads — you may still see non-personalized (contextual) advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to legal requirements. Updated versions are posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
